I know Paladins, Druids, and DKs can do it. I want to see if I can as well.
I don't think I'd respec myself at all, but I know Kongsecrate would get a respec to something like this - less offensive abilities, way more defensive abilities, plus RoS to keep me alive during the air phase.
Any thoughts or input from someone that's tried it/done it?

you can try rocketboots as an "oh shit!" if something happens during the air phase and you need to avoid a deep breath. Maybe bring a few frost grenades for the whelps in case you get some stragglers. That's all that's coming to mind at the moment.

Well yeah, I know that. You don't have to tell me what Onyxia does, lol. I'm just questioning Lionhearted's use over, say, Avoidance and RoS.
Wouldn't Avoidance slash the incoming damage from flame breaths/lava splashes?
RoS is good, but in a situation where you have no healer, your pet is going to be taking 130% total damage. his + the 30% he's siphoning from you. her fears are short, what 2-3 seconds? so lionhearted helped a bit for me by shaving almost a full second off. Come to think of it, according to wowhead she doesn't do any AoE, just cone effects and i don't think they count. i figured the added 9% fire damage reduction would help more than anything.
The lava splashes and flame breaths aren't considered AoE? Lame.
Meh, I'll try it my way first then try it your way if it falls through. :P
I'm sure either way would work, i just went with the school of thought that peench was 20 levels above her abilities, so what fire damage didn't miss/resist was going to get reduced even further by the 9% added to already high resistances of pets. I guess the heated ground and breath count as AoEs, so avoidance might work out, you could sacrifice the two in pet boarding for 2 in avoidance. 50% less is better than nothing.
Alright, how do you deal with the fireballs in phase 2? I can only feign-evade them so often. Christ.
I went with a resto shammy and a mage (who died the second the whelps came out lol) so i got off easy because she'd switch between three targets. Try fire protection pots, or a resistance flask (they have those right? forgive me, i just woke up)

I tried back at 70 (I'm a hunter too).
It was complete fail. I got her down at least 200k though...
Hrm, if you got her down to 200k, you got her out of the air phase. Any tips for phase 2 survival?
there's a video you can watch online of a lvl 77 hunter soloing ony (granted it was during the beta, but still, you get the idea). using a bear as a pet, and a very specific spec to help out with survivability. (imp barrage/spirit bond). the Pet was also spec'd into RoS. The hunter was using 2pc t5 which helps ALOT (especially when you pop RoS and volley those whelps down). RoS was used during deep breaths as well.
I tried this the other day, but i wasn't a special spec and I didn't have my 2pc t5 with me and I managed to get as far as the breaths before my pet was just taking too much damage. I'd rez him, but then i'd be painfully low on mana and just fall behind on either the heals or the dps. Did get very very close to downing him tho. will try with the spec i mentioned above and it shouldn't be a problem.
Yeah, I remember that video, that's back when RoS was bugged and had no cooldown and didn't actually transfer damage but still reduced damage.
And I'm not respeccing. :P
