We have temporarily disabled all Arena matches while we investigate current rating calculation discrepancies. Further updates will be provided once we have additional information to share.
I think I speak for every SES reader when I say this: LEAVE THEM THE FUCK DISABLED FOREVER
And oh god, the PVPer tears are delicious and nutritious.

Well that's just completely unfriendly of you.
Not that I really care about analrena but still.
Sir,
As a devoted Goat Fan, I must ask why you have a surname when it's well established that Goats do not adhere to this silly human custom.
(And I'd rather they keep Wintercrap disabled, Arena doesn't affect me really.)
Vajarra & Co

now thats unfair. :(
arena is fun to screw around in, just get a few of your good friends, create an arena team, and just screw around. you dont have to do well, you just have to enjoy playing with friends. i might not have been a pvp'er (other than in the most casual sense), but i still had so much fun in arena (3 bm hunters in a 3s team vs low ranked people = hilarios)
dont hate on arenas just because its unbalanced and never will be balanced no matter how hard bliz tries (and hopefully realizes that soon). dont rid this great screw around area for us casual pvp'ers, just kinda wish it wasnt important on bliz's scale by any means.
it is perfectly acceptable to hate on the tards that believe that arena is everything and must be perfectly balanced (except their class).

I don't. I hate it because its influence creeps beyond itself. If fallout from Arena did not influence PVE, then I would never say another ill word of it. It does, however.

Upon landing on Azeroth and attempting to ingratiate myself with the native races, my lack of a surname became a routine sticking point. In order to fit in better, I decided on one that I liked. Simple as that!
Several things.
1. Arena is hard, but I find it rewarding.
2. I agree that when it influences PvE it's annoying, but it's here to stay.
3. Welcome to Azeroth, ya crazy goat!
4. ... there is not four, why are you reading this?
Testify, my brother.
Arena and PvP to me are special because when i down a raid boss there isn't a chance that it's nerdraging and potentially breaking a keyboard in a fit after it dies :D
That's precisely why I refuse to PVP. Gaining happiness from the misery of others is pathetic beyond reason.
well, its not exactly the misery of others why i like that. its the happiness of my teammates when we win.
hell even close losses are fun. really the fun of pvp is the challenge of it. win or lose, if its a close arena game, my teammates and i are having a great time. winning only makes it sweater.
but back to your previous point ... blizzard just needs to realize that arena will not ever become balanced like bgs could be. there will always be a class that has an advantage over others. they should not put in large changed based off of arena because of that.

the reason i arena is the same i played sports - i enjoy competition. saying that finding pleasure in competition is tantamount to schadenfreuda is ignorant.
What's more pathetic? to nerdrage over a game or for me to laugh about it?
There are days I read this blog and I smile. There are other days that I shrug and move on to the next tab.
Some days my brow furrows and I open an application to make some calculations.
Then there are the days I grin, widely and dearly wish I could meet Rilgon in real life just so that I could buy him the drink of his choice. After this I would walk quietly into the sunset leaving him holding some sort of strange girly drink with fruit and multiple straws protruding from it and a puzzled expression on his face. This was one such day.
There is no shame in being frustrated. The very concept of "nerdrage" is idiotic. Hell, my rant a couple of days ago about getting screwed out of raid spots is tantamount to the "nerdrage" you talk about, and I honestly see no difference.
Plus, with as inherently idiotic, imbalanced, uncompetitive, and generally full of failure that Arena is, I can't see why people WOULDN'T be frustrated by it.
Hell, I'm frustrated by it and I don't even participate.
WTB War of Emperium in WoW.
I like Plastic Rat...
@Kordwar, I find the idea of taking pleasure in someone else's frustration absurd.
Much better to go "better luck next time" and if you know their class well - make a suggestion on what they could try differently.
I think colloquially, it's referred to as "being a good winner" :P
I personally find it amusing to read the WoW forums and chuckle at how many people take the farce that is the arena (and WoW PvP in general) as seriously as they do. I've always felt that PvP felt sort of...tacked on. The arena system has been in affect for five seasons now and if they can't balance nine, now ten, classes by now, they never will. They should just cut their losses and segregrate PvE and PvP like how Guild Wars does it.
Well Rilgon all I can say is you are right! I HATE PvP, Arena bites big time.
On another note - you have converted a long time BM hunter into MM.
I went 7/54/10 last night and the burst damage i was doing was OFF THE CHARTS! I couldnt believe the crits I was pulling off.
I know that you like a Wasp but do you think a Gorilla is good for the crowd control? I solo alot and raid (well almost never) so wondering what your thoughts are on the gorilla pet.
Hell yes, a gorilla is the perfect solo content pet. Kongsecrate is my best buddy when it comes to Hodir dailies and the like - Ayamiss is a fickle girl, and doesn't like being beat on too much, so her talents are best meted out in Naxxramas.
Thanks for the replay!
One more question, how do you get your icon to show up on BRK's blog?
Thanks in advance.
Woodrun the BM now MM Hunter
Hmm.... I'm a true fan of wow and love ALL aspects of the game. I just don't let things get to me. Arena's are great fun. As are BG's and Raiding...
Do not let your passions overwhelm you, or it will be your undoing Master Arcsinh. :)
Your "rant" is great fun. I do not share the same level of frustration, but it is annoying to deal with "balancing" on PVE as a result of PVP.
I find that if I don't get too vested emotionally in the fine details of the game, I have a happier gaming experience.
