Now, looking over at who's going for ranged DPS, I see a couple of people who belong in Naxx... and then another person who other friends of mine have complained about their woefully sub-par DPS. Like under 1000 DPS in a heroic sub-par.
And I'm wait-listed for this person?
Normally, if it were bosses that I didn't care about, I wouldn't even be that irate, really. But today, we're doing 4H, Sapphiron, and KT. Three bosses that I absolutely need loot from, and two bosses that we haven't even downed yet. Last week, when I was unable to log on in time (2 minutes late, awesome), they tried Sapphiron and complained repeatedly about a lack of DPS.
You don't think my 2500+ DPS would've helped and would help today when we're doing it again?
Every time something like this happens, it gets harder and harder for me to rationalize spending so much gold and time per week just getting prepped and ready to go for raid time. Why bother with all that effort if I'm gonna get wait-listed just because someone signed up a couple of hours before I did.
Hey, I guess I could go do some heroics and try and get some Abyss Crystals.

Well, is it at that point where you just PUG Naxx as often as you want?
How does your guild view it's members PUG'ing raids? (I know some guilds do not think too highly of this idea)
I personally do not like guilds that restrict a member to only raid solely with that guild - especially if you're stuck on a waiting list time and time again after proving yourself.

Well, I'm already saved, since I ran on Tuesday. I can't run Thursdays, due to work, so I usually hit 2/3 of the raid nights with the guild (Tuesday and Monday). But the last three Mondays, I've been waitlisted.
I can't go do 10-man Naxx, there's no 25-man Naxx pugs running as far as I can tell, and I'm saved to everything else.
Assuming something doesn't change between now and 9 PM server time, I'll just get off and go do something else.
You might want to find a new home, Rilgon. Nothing against Maevet, who was awesome enough to get you in, but that's kinda stupid on the raid leader's part >.<
Every other guild I've looked at either:
*Won't accept me due to spec or professions
*Has raid nights on days I can't raid and has stupidly high attendance requirements
*Is on a PVP server
*Is full on Hunters

I know with some guilds this can be the kiss of death. If there's already a strike against you, either personal or not. Then all it can take is something like this to be put into a holding pattern.
I'd discuss it with the GM or officers and see what's the deal. If they won't come clean, then maybe it is time to go find another guild or something.

They won't discuss it, and I had a valid enough reason for not being able to be there exactly on time (internet decided to crap out about an hour before raid time).

Hmm.. if you had a good reason and they're not discussing it. Then it seems to me your getting a cold shoulder.

But seriously.. maybe your starting to outgrow or change this guild. But yes, it will be hard to find a guild that raids but does not min/max or at the least is accepting of "off specs"

You should probably find a new home if this keeps up any longer.
Tell your GM straight up that you think you should be there for those fights. That you have a a lot to contribute compared to the guy who is probably just getting boosted.
If this still continues, I'd suggest cutting your losses.
You're a good Hunter, Rilgon, likely better than I am. I am sure you can find someplace to raid, especially when the next patch comes out and BM hunters won't be as sought after.

Not much I can say. i agree with Rilgon that KoV is hurting it's self by not filtering the raids a bit. I myself am likely not going to be raiding for this semester due to work load/schedule.

those other guilds do realize that the top dps 50/21 bm hunters are usually supported by a mm hunter?
mm hunters bring the best ap buff since it is constant and can be glyphed up to 12% (in addition to doing nice damage), so if they are min/maxing they should bring one of them.
as for the professions ... if they are trying to min/max to the point where you require professions ... and they dont have 1 mm hunter in your raid ... the irony is killing me.

I hear you on this. With my current guild though it's either we don't have enough dps to do anything but farm Spider Wing and the first two bosses of Plague (where roughly 70% of the raid dies on the first safety dance and I die because I can't get that disease cleansed off of me) or I sit the raid because we have too much dps and I have to take my daughter back to her mother's on raid nights. (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays)
I don't even bother buying flasks or the herbs to make said flasks any more nor farm mammoth meat for foods. What's the point?
