Really now. Devilsaurs?!
I mean, they're awesome. Really awesome. Awesome enough to start teasing the most inner cores of my Hunter psyche and start nudging me towards Beast Mastery (please don't have a heart attack, readers).
But my line has been drawn in this sand and I won't cross it! If you want my betrayal of the Marksmanship tree, Blizzard, you know my cost!
I. Want. Ancient Core Hounds!

"I want people to stop being stupid. Apparently I want too much..."
That is a desire of all of the intelligentsia, my friend, and a desire not often fulfilled or granted.
Do not waver, however, for unlike me, your mind's eye is not fettered by a longing to return to the past, but a keen eye towards the future.
Fight the good fight, Alu. Someone has to.

WotLK MM Build, Revision 402
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=cxbZceVbMVz0eoehAZe
With two points to play with.
I'm thinking that dropping the points from Barrage/Improved Barrage to get some other talents (more Careful Aim, the pushback resistance talent) would be nice, since I'm probably gonna drop Multi from a rotation and just use Arcane and Kill.
And the wording on Marked for Death looks like it's any marked target, so I'll get the goodies from anyone's mark - meaning I don't have to get Improved to take advantage of MfD.
The two spare points are up for discussion - Aimed (for MD pulls) and Chimaera (for "OH SHIT TANK DYING" moments), maybe?

Holy mother of piss. Who needs Multi-Shot?
Kill Shot has been updated on mmo-champion
You attempt to finish the wounded target off, firing a long range attack dealing weapon damage plus [RAP * 0.15 + 325]. Causes an additional 745 to 825 bonus damage against targets at or under 20% health.
475 Mana, Instant cast, 5 - 45 yd range, 6 sec cooldown
I...
Holy SHIT.
Like, seriously, am I the only one considering dropping Multi out of the 3:2 for this thing? Steady/Arcane/Auto/Steady/Auto/Steady/Kill/Auto
Plus you get a tighter rotation due to no cast time and no potentially clipped cooldowns.
...daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn
*rewrites plans for spec*

Wrath MM talent build, alpha 42
Here it is, folks: My first theoretical MM talent build (at 80) for PVEing.
http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?hunter=50200000000000000000000000530000000000000000000000000005105201205013053135330350
My opinions on the changes and my rationalization of the choices:
Points 1-20: Easy. These are a no-brainer. Lethal/Mortal/Aimed/Throat/Killing/Efficiency. This is old hat. I like that we get the "good" talents a tier earlier - it frees up space for "those" Hunters, I guess.
Points 21-25: Huh, guess I'm dipping into Careful Aim. Wait, 33%? That's better than 3/3 now, very nice.
Points 26-30: Oh, RWS, what would I do without you.
Points 31-34: Improved Barrage and TSA, good ol' friends.
Points 35-40: These are some sweet new abilities. 6% armor penetration and huge mana cost reductions during Rapid Fire? Want
Points 41-45: Not getting Master Marksman would be dumb
Points 46-51: These are the talents that, gods willing, will let us be competitive. God I want to see some theorycrafting and math on these.
Points 52-57: Hrm, I wonder if these only work on my mark...
Points 57-59: Let's grab Hawk Eye.
Points 60-64: I FUCKING CALLED IMPROVED TRACKING. I FUCKING CALLED IT (and will invest 5 points in it)
Points 65-69: Ah, Imp AotH. You haven't changed.
Points 70-71: Nor have you, Focused Fire.
Overall, I'm hoping this performs soundly and competes with the bonuses from Improved Aspects and Serpent's Swiftness. Should any Beta-privileged Hunter wish to try this talent build (up to 77, I guess - skip Focused Fire and 2/3 CAim), please do and let us know how it is!
Edit 1: Hawk Eye is 3 points. Derp :3

Well that was quick. My first WotLK "OH COME ON, BLIZZ"
51 beast
Beast Mastery [NYI]
You master the art of Beast training, teaching you the ability to tame Exotic pets and increasing your total amount of Pet Skill Points by 5.
51 marks
Chimera Shot
You deal 30% weapon damage, consuming the current Sting on your target and triggering an effect:
Serpent Sting - Instantly deals 40% of the damage done by your Serpent Sting.
Viper Sting - Instantly burns 30% of the amount of mana drained on your Viper Sting, restoring 100% back to you.
Scorpid Sting - Reduces damage done by the target's next three attacks by 60%. The damage reduction is diminished by 20% following each attack. Lasts 10 sec.
51 surv
Explosive Shot
You fire an explosive charge into the target, dealing ${$RAP*0.2+$m1}-${$RAP*0.2+$M1} Fire damage every second for $d to all enemies within 5 yards of the target.
You're kidding, right, Blizz?
Right?
YOU HAD BETTER BE KIDDING, BLIZZ

Remember me, kids? I'M BACK!
Well, not entirely back, per se, but I'm definitely back in the scene now. Why, you ask, after my angry and hostile departure?

THAT'S why.
# All pet families now have one unique ability. New abilities have been added for families such as bears and sporebats.
# Aspects now no longer cost mana.
# Avoidance, Dash / Dive and Cobra Reflexes are now pet talents instead of pet skills.
# Bite now has no cooldown, does the same damage and costs the same Focus as Claw, so works as a Focus dump.
# Every hunter pet can learn Growl, Cower and either Bite or Claw (never both).
# Hunter pets can now learn talents in one of three trees depending on family. Pets gain talent points starting at level 20 and earn an extra talent point every 4 levels.
# If a hunter tames a pet that is more than five levels beneath than the hunter's level, then the pet jumps to five levels beneath than the hunter's level.
# Loyalty, Training Points and the hunter Beast Training button no longer exist. Hunter pets can now learn all skills at their level. They will get new ranks automatically as they gain levels.
# New Talent - Improved Tracking (Survival) - Increases all damage done to targets that are being tracked 1/2/3/4/5%.
# Steady Shot now uses ammo. In result, its bonus damage has been slightly reduced. Players can notice a damage increase based upon what ammo they use.
That's ALSO why.
I will be watching this beta with GREAT interest.
