[Rilgon] has earned the achievement [Heroic: Archavon the Stone Watcher]!
And blitzed the damage meters while I'm at it! :D
So I did some testing, and I've resigned to eat crow yet AGAIN by admitting that Nassira was right - Arcane > Aimed.
And, in that vein, I got a personal achievement as well - my first time breaking 3000 DPS in a raid boss battle. :)
Of course, Archavon only dropped PVP Hunter gear (Deadly Gladiator's chest), so it was a bust as far as gear went, but the Badges of Valor are a nice start towards... something, I guess.

nice, i just did that tonight too though it was the 10 man version.
unfortunatly no dk stuff dropped (or hunter stuff either).
was there another hunter or did you take the pvp gear? (even though you would have absolutely no use from it)

There were two other Hunters, so I passed to them.
If I were the only Hunter, I would've rather had the Abyss Crystal than the chest, it's worse than my Tunic of the Lost Pack.

However since Arcane now rocks again, what glyphs do you put?

Still the same three - Steady, Serpent, and Viper.
I'd replace Steady with Arcane until the Marked for Death/GoSS bug is resolved, but they're still prohibitively expensive on SWC to replace on a whim.
