So since I can ride a Mechanostrider in 3.0.8, it's time to claim something I never got as a Dwarf - a Black Battlestrider. However, this comes at a rather steep cost - forcing me to PVP.
Yeah, I could do like Maevet and get a Swift White Mechanostrider (ironically, this is what I had pre-BC, too), but... eh. I'm definitely getting a SWM, but my real goal is the Black Battlestrider.
Well, this means I need 30 AV, AB, and WSG tokens. After a brief blitz into WSG yesterday morning in which I earned Warsong Gulch Perfection, I now sit at 15 AV, 1 AB, and 6 WSG tokens. Hrm...
But the other thing I've noticed - I'm really, really bad at this PVP thing. I was in one WSG game, and I was getting focus-fired by a DK and a Mage while carrying the flag. First instinct? Feign, get them to stop targeting me! Well, somewhere between 1.7 and 3.0.3, they made it where feigning drops the flag. Derp.
I have a pretty hard time 1v1 with plate-wearers. Casters are decent to handle if they're not Locks. Rogues are STILL the bane of my very existence (stunlocks are stupid). And other Hunters? So long as they're not BM, I can chew em up.
Hrm... Maybe if I had resilience gear, it'd be easier, but eh. Where are all the "losing premades" that were relatively common pre-Wrath? *sigh*

Having done the Gnomeregan grind as a Draenei myself, the idea of being rewarded with a mechanstrider makes me a very happy hunter. (Really, I just wanted to be an Ambassador, but I'm not complaining about an incoming bonus.)
Grinding Gnomeregan was so incredibly painful, with me trying to do it mostly without runecloth.
Grinding Gnome rep for the White one, AND PvPing for the Black one?
That... that's gonna be incredibly sore.
Well, I'm a good way into Revered already. :) I don't have much further to go, really. I'm not sure what I have available in the Dwarf/Gnome starting zone, but I'm hoping it's significant.
hmm, you're even lucky that you have enough people to fill a bg.
the only bg i have won this expansion was strand of the ancients. every other one was lost by default due to not having enough people. somehow the horde always have a full bg even though there is a 2:1 ally:horde ratio on my server.
i feel guilty, since im playing my dk, i target hunters because i know how to exploit their weaknesses. (and then later on in the bg i have 2-3 pissed bm hunters that activate BW and attack me at once).

only advice i can give is:
for plate wearers, circle kite in a frost trap. if they're warriors you need to keep in their "deadzone" too close to intercept, too far to hit.
Oh, other hunters dispise me in BGs. Nothing like having all of them focus fire you because you keep sitting on them. i've had no less than three devilsaurs and a corehound after me at once in a single WSG.
Also, tinker rocketboots for flag runnin. ZOOOOOOOM.
Really? Nitro Boosts do not cause you to drop the flag?
nope, you pick it up, grab the boots in the tunnel, when those run out pop nitro, if you're lucky there is another set in your bases tunnel!

proof :D
Huh, go figure, they're not 100% useless, they're 99.7% useless.
::wipes a tear::
god bless engineering!
(i also have boosts on my dress shoes that go with my tuxedo for that James Bond effect :D )

Moar like Tony Stark effect, IMO, especially if you have the Pyro-Rockets.
