Looking at my logs of every time I've tried to get the damned thing, I'm up to about 225 tries and consequently 450 gold spent trying to get it.
Just dropped another 60 gold on 30 more membership renewals - we'll see what they yield Thursday morning.
Of course, when it comes to me and Engineering, it just wouldn't be me if it I didn't have piss-poor luck.
Or is 400+ kills each for the Repair Bot 110G, Felsteel Boomstick, Adamantite Shell Machine, and other schemata normal? :P Hell, I still don't have the schematic that this blog takes its name from...

Shame I can't obtain them for you. I seem to have pretty good luck with stuff. Caught Old Crafty (in hostile territory mind you) after 108 casts and one death. Caught Old Ironjaw after 205 casts. Farmed probably a dozen fireflies so far, every color of dragon whelp and the hyacinth macaw, all for gifts (well I have sold quite a few of the fireflies). I can't roll worth a shit for loot, but when it comes to getting rare stuff, I'm not too bad at it.
Ah, thats too bad. I remember getting that schematic on my second renewal, before I found out how rare it was. I wish you luck!
