I will be the first to admit I'm wrong.

Was talking with Nassira over at Diaries of a Marksman Hunter, and we got into the topic of Chimera-Serpent and how it behaves. Now, prevailing wisdom on the Beta forums and in practice on the Beta stated that it did 40% of what your Serpent has done, not what it will do.

I held onto that belief as well, until today.

I was wrong.

Chimera does a full 40% of the potential damage of your Serpent Sting. Now, what does this mean?

A) Optimizing your Chimera damage is already done by firing it every 10 seconds on the dot. People were theorizing that if you held out for 14.5 seconds, you'd get more oomph on the Chimera-Serpent effect. This is wrong.
B) Glyph of Serpent Sting is awesome for MM Hunters. It ups the damage of Serpent Sting by 20%, which ups your Chimera-Serpent by 5%.
C) You can poke fun at me for being wrong. :P

This post is dedicated to my guildie, Miyrah, who graciously donated a Glyph of Serpent Sting to help me verify the above. <3

I'm glad we figured that out. It was plagueing me for the longest time.

P.S. Don't hate being wrong. Hate feeling bad for being wrong. Makes life easier. And besides...you weren't wrong...you were misinformed. Sounds much better that way. ;-]
